All About Love: Short Poems: This is a workshop where students will share their definition of love and write a series of short poems on self love, a moment where they felt loved, and about someone they love. This workshop is inspired by the insight of bell hook’s book All About Love that tackles a concrete definition of love as an action for our modern society to implement and discuss. In this book, she stresses how important it is to provide a model for learning to love for our youth. As we see how students define and recognize love, I want to offer a concrete definition for them to take away and implement with their family and friends.

Calendar Next available session starts Aug 3, 2021

Rachel Berkman will be hosting this workshop on August 3rd @ 11am on Zoom! Take a look at her biography on our website!

"The Imaginative Animal" is a drama workshop in which we will explore the acting Technique "Laban" in an accessible way for kids. A big part of this is relating a character to Animals. You copy the physicality of the animal and all of the specific traits so that you resemble the animal. This is great for kids because they are creating, learning about animals, and learning about acting when they don't even realize. Depending on the Age of the kids, I would love to have them read a little monologue and pick a animal that they worked on and bring that into their piece! For the young kids, Just exploring and doing acting exercises will teach them about, creativity, trusting instincts, and working well with others!
